This is an incredibly humbling reel by Instrument.

He is: Listening

Sometimes the best musical discoveries happen in weird ways. Half of my internet consumption revolves around a site called ffffound. One day, a handful of vintage punk rock photos led me to this blog. The author of that blog is in a band called Turf War, which I now have been listening to on repeat for a month. It's a great mix of classic rock and punk, seems like they'd fit into what I remember of the Fargo rock scene.

My favorite song:

The second year of mixes for ACMC is in full effect. I just wrapped up my latest mix. I originally set out to make a full mix of cover songs entitled That Sounds Vaguely Familiar. It didn't work the way that I wanted so some of the cover songs made it to the final but it's a more well-rounded mix. Enjoy.

WU LYF

I've been listening to the WU LYF album Go Tell Fire To The Mountain on heavy repeat for a month now. They were recently on Letterman and I laughed super hard at the end when Dave comes out and tries to talk to them, worth watching all the way through or else just skipping to the end.

Also awesome:
Wu Lyf - We Bros by WU LYF

This does remind me of that time that my parents came to see you in your electro-pop-bizarro-twin band in Fargo. Elk club basement? Awkward.

I'm blown away by this video of how this Explosions in the Sky poster was made. Enjoy

He is: Working

I'm in the midst of working on a big project for Land O'Lakes. I'll hold off on too many details until it launches. For the photography of it, I travelled out to Pennsylvania to shoot farm families with Jonathan Chapman. I first saw his work when he documented Bill Holm:

And then for Colle+McVoy, he has done quite a bit including our Purina work, documenting Best-In-Show type dog shows:

It was a great experience, we had a great time, here's a preview of what we shot.

Jonathan's assistant on the shoot was another amazing photographer, Josh Grubbs. Josh rounded out his portfolio and his tumblr with a plethora of cat photos.

She is: Playing

Here are a few shots from a fun little spring shoot John Christenson was kind enough to do with my kiddos. And, best of all... I got to fulfill my secret job fantasy and played stylist. Our models were semi-cooperative, and highly sugared up. I'm a little shocked they are at all in focus. I guess that is why John is a pro.

She is: Reading

I do love me some neatly organized things. LOVE this blog. Hours and hours of carefully planned fun. I suddenly feel the need to organize my desk.

How fun to see co-worker Carla Fahden's St. Paul home on Design Sponge. She has such a beautiful and subtle design sensibility. Just lovely!

NEW KNOCK WORK

Hard to believe I've been working with Knock for almost 4 years. They have recently posted some new work to their lovely website. I had the pleasure of working with them on the Holiday 2010 and Back To School 2010 campaigns for Target stores. Time certainly flies when you are working with great people on such fun projects.

Stumbled across these awesome badges from Designer Jane Chika's Disorderly Goods on Pinterest. Delightful and amusing.

OOIE ZUZII!

I just squealed a bit when I saw these. Zuzii is a a mother and daughter owned company. Together they combine traditional cobbling and sewing techniques with a modern and clean aesthetic. Yup. I'm in. I'm a bit bummed that the Poppy Juju Baby Sandals are gone, but will be getting the little girl the Bijuou Baby Boots for the fall. Thank you, Zuzii.

A LITTLE SUNSHINE

The little girl's party was such fun. Everyone even managed to come in a full spectrum of color! I made the birthday girl a special little sunshine crown for the day, and she couldn't have been happier. And thank goodness for purple cauliflower. Am I right?
