The Lynn on Bryant

Over the last few months we have been working with Jay Peterson and Peter Ireland on the branding for their new restaurant. The Lynn on Bryant is a family-friendly bistro in the heart of the Lynnhurst neighborhood of Minneapolis. Jay and Peter both have backgrounds growing up in rural areas, and incorporate those root into everything from their farm to table philosophy to their strong sense of community. It was important to us that their identity exemplified both their past with a rustic, timeless familiarity and their forward thinking with functional simplicity. We are proud to have been a part of such an amazing group of people who helped build the Lynn and hope you stop by and get to know them.

This was the first time that we worked on a project that wasn't for a family member. Although, Jay is technically probably part of the family. Either way, it was really exciting to work on this together.

I have this polaroid hanging on a mirror in the entryway to my house. This is me. Striking a pose next to a hot rod at a car show with my dad. I'd assume I'm around 4 in the photo. I think I'm pretty hot stuff. Because I'm hanging with my awesome dad. I always felt pretty special when I got to do these things with my him. They were such a huge part of who he is. And in many ways became a huge part of who I am. He taught me about aesthetics, style, craftsmanship and hard work. Even if he didn't know he was. I wouldn't be doing the things I do today if I hadn't learned these lessons from him. My mom, not to be left out, added to the mix a love of art, and sent me on the right path with lots of support and encouragement of her own. The parental combo is greatly appreciated today. I've seen my dad create amazing cars, and real works of art if you ask me. He is modest and sincere about his work. He does it because he loves it, not for accolades. With his new shop, Miracle Rod & Custom, I see a glimmer of excitement in his eye that is infectious. It made me excited to apply what I've learned to pay him back for giving so much to me. So, if you are ever in need of a Hot Rod, he's the man! If it's a good job, it's a MIRACLE.

As a part of the rebranding for Ruby 3by Anna Lee, I worked with a talented group of ladies to shoot the Summer Collection. We shot this last summer and I never had a chance to post about it. Now that we are incorporating all of these elements into the site for Ruby 3, I ran across them and wanted to share a few of these beauties. The whole collection will be posted on the almost completed site coming soon!

ANNA LEE IDENTITY

Amazingly, I've been working with Ms. Anna Lee for over a decade. From her very first fashion show in Fargo, to the creation of Voltage Fashion Amplified here in Minneapolis, she always brings great projects and allows for unlimited creativity. The perfect client. Here's an update to her personal brand, Ruby 3. Currently, I'm partnering with my favorite in-house developer / website extraordinaire to create a new site for Anna. You'll be the first to know when it goes up.

While working with Olson last August, I partnered with Chris Henderson and team to develop a new identity for The Women's Foodservice Forum. I built an icon system and a set of illustrations for their collateral pieces. The lovely Miss Amanda Ward put it all together beautifully.
