SNOWDIN 3D MAGIC

Coming up on the holiday season, Colle+McVoy needed a holiday site. We hid away for a few weeks and made a giant model of a snowy valley in our store room. Then we photographed it and converted the photos to 3-D. The site is a collection of games, downloadable tchochkes including a digital cuckoo clock, icons and a font. Lots of fun to make, even more fun to waste time on around the holidays, enjoy.

For the launch of takemefishing.org's social network for fisherman, Fishington, I created these postcards to announce to media, bloggers and other stakeholders. Originally inspired by vintage vacation postcards, I took a different spin on that by letterpressing them. This was technically my first letterpress project and Studio on Fire did a great job.

For this year's Creative Summit, I worked with Tim Blevins (who is singing) and Lee Hanson on an invite video. It is a great tongue-in-cheek look at the information superhighway which is the focus this year. I also am the one that played the Casio beat in the background.

We created this site to promote the most recent Atmosphere album, "When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold". It gave fans the ability to tag any site on the web and save it to the gallery, rate it, comment. It's been receiving some great response and I'm still amazed by the technical feat that we pulled off on this one. The screenshots were taken by a small army of PCs hidden somewhere in our building. The drawing tools are slick and feel as real as any I've ever used. If anything, it's a great waste of an hour or two.

I’M SQUARE.

Prior to this project, my sewing experience was limited an annual piecing together of a halloween costume for my son. I decided to step it up a notch and explored the fascinating world of quilting. I'm obsessed with the unbelievable assortment of fabric patterns and combinations. It's insanely overwhelming, and I strayed far, far away from my original vision for this quilt. What can I say, I was seduced by hedgehogs. I'm moving on to my second quilt, a lovely little robot number for the boy. Then, hoping to have established enough skills to piece together my own design. Easier said than done, I'm sure.

There are so many beautiful, modern and inspiring things happening with quilting these days. I'm a big fan of Boo Davis (see: robot quilt): Quiltsryche! Are you kidding me? C'mon... that is AMAZING.

LETTERPRESS I

My hubby got me a very thoughtful gift certificate for letterpress at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts for my birthday. It's something I've always wanted to learn, but never found the time. It was a little like meditation, setting the type by hand, adding little bits of leading, testing, changing, tweaking. Loved it! I set this little poem for my son. And as a nice little reminder for me too.

Easier than updating our portfolios, and a lot more fun. This pretty much is our answer to "what have you been up to lately?"
