Colle+McVoy does lots of work for the Minnesota State Lottery. I always find it really amusing, but there's something super special about the latest campaign for scratch tickets. These gems were created by Dustin Black and Brian Ritchie. Apparently hamsters are untrainable little critters, so the results of these were a bit of a gamble.

Between this and those Kia commercials, It appears that Hampsters are the new Penguin. I really didn't see that one coming. I must have missed that trend report.

I stumbled upon one of the funnest timewasters today called Fontstruct. It is an online font creator that allows you to make your own and browse other's creations. There are a bunch of great free fonts for download. After spending about an hour in it today, I realized that it's a lot harder to make a typeface than I thought.

Stumbled across these awesome badges from Designer Jane Chika's Disorderly Goods on Pinterest. Delightful and amusing.

Leo Babauta's blog Zen Habits features one or two powerful articles a week on: simplicity, health & fitness, motivation and inspiration, frugality, family life, happiness, goals, getting great things done, and living in the moment. All of which, are currently on my to-do list.

Brooklyn Fare

Such a sweet and simple branding solution from Mucca Design. And that spokesmodel looks awfully familiar. You can take the boy out of the midwest, and put him in some fancy lingerie, but he'll still have that sweet set of design skills. Lookin' good Steve!

I don't think I remember a movie that I've been this excited about. We Love You So is an ongoing look at the things that have inspired the movie posted by Spike Jonze and others. I love seeing behind the scenes of the creative process especially with artists I admire. Terrible Yellow Eyes is another collection of artwork inspired by the book, this one is my fave.

Krafty Kym

The perpetually inspiring Kym MacFarlane has recently launched an Etsy store featuring these awesome onsies and shirts which she has been working on in her spare time (which, I find amazing since she's a full time designer/art director AND mother of 3). I'm thrilled, because I seriously doubt that my son will tolerate the clip-on tie I had planned for his Easter best. If you want to see more of Kym's pieces, check out her Flickr page too.

I've long been a fan of Orla Kiely's beautiful print and pattern (how could you not be with the sweet simplicity and fresh color), so I'm pretty excited that she's doing a whole slew of products for Target. I feel like I'm going to get that cabage-patch-grab-all-you-can shopping anxiety. Weee.

Just a quick congrats to HIM for scoring 8 bronze and 1 silver pin at this year's Ad Fed Show for the Atmosphere Microsite, Take Me Fishing and a bunch of others. AND, he's also found himself on the short list for this year's Young Gun's Award. Young Guns heralds the best upcoming talent, work and ideas. It is the first international advertising award in the world for creatives and students under the age of 30. Go get 'em tiger.
